The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Royal Canadian Artillery Band present In Fields of Honour, a celebration of the tradition of Wind Band community, past and present. Join us as we honour the past and the reason for Remembrance Day, and the Poppy Campaign. Performing music by Ticheli, Smith, Stert, Del Tredici, Barber, Machain and more.

EDMONTON – The Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Department of Music presents In Fields of Honour, a celebratory concert for the Poppy Campaign kickoff​. This unique combined ensemble performance by the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Royal Canadian Artillery Band f​eatures large ensemble repertoire centered around themes of celebration in challenging times, including In Wartime by British composer David DelTredeci, Bachseits by Johannes Stert, Inchon by Robert W. Smith and Angels in the Architecture by Frank Ticheli.

The concert will be a powerful tribute to the contributions of the Canadian Armed Forces across many global conflicts, and the continued efforts towards global peace. Through music we can understand and celebrate the human spirit and the perseverance of generations of Canadians in our storied traditions and history. Our combined ensemble represents the future of music as a part of this shared tradition and history.
