Alberta Land Institute

The Alberta Land Institute (ALI), an independent research institute affiliated with the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, seeks to collaborate on, support and enhance the land use policy of all government levels. Specifically, ALI focuses on ways that planning and policy design can ensure the long-term sustainability of Alberta’s agricultural sector, water and natural areas. ALI conducts land-use and policy related research in order to provide tools for land users and policy makers to balance all the competing interests for Alberta's land base.

The Alberta Law Reform Institute provides independent recommendations to the Government of Alberta to ensure that Alberta’s laws and administrative justice are adequately serving Albertans.

The Centre for Constitutional Studies is a public education and constitutional research hub. By connecting Canadian and international scholars who are leaders in their fields, the centre contributes to constitutional debate and provides educational resources about the Constitution for the public.

Health Law Institute

The Faculty of Law’s Health Law Institute , was established by Justice Ellen Picard in 1977 as the first health law research institute in Canada. It has since evolved into an internationally-recognized centre for health law and science policy research that is evidence based.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ sociologist Temitope Oriola runs through the evidence and best practices for removing violent officers from the ranks of Canada’s police.

POLICY FOCUSED RESEARCH

Transforming Research for Social Impact Hub

The Transforming Research for Social Impact Hub (TRSI) is committed to doing research that promotes community-driven social change. TRSI Directors are committed to policy focused research, and advocating for collaboration across systems. The TRSI's Advisory Committee is made up of individuals from the Edmonton Social Planning Council and the City of Edmonton, demonstrating TRSI's commitment to undertake research in collaboration with the government.
