About Records Management

Our Mandate 

Records are an institutional asset of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ.

Records provide evidence of sound decision-making; accountability; and compliance with internal and external requirements.

Properly managed records enable Units to reliably access information; provide transparency in processes; and achieve cost-effectiveness of resources for managing records.

Services We Provide 

Interpretation and application of, including compliance with the University's Records Management Policy (UAPPOL)

Development of strategies and procedures for managing records including but not limited to:

  • Information organization, categorization and description
  • Records retention, preservation and disposition
  • Records access and protection
  • Technology use considerations for managing records
  • Implementation and assessment of information rules and practices

Office History 

  • 2011: University Records Office established in General Counsel
  • 2013: First University Records Officer recruited
  • 2017: Information Maturity Framework launched
  • 2019: PARIS Collaboration established
  • 2025: Incorporated under Information, Privacy & Records Management Office
