Mandate
The LKSIoV unites a consortium of over 45 exemplary and world-renowned researchers to promote scientific advancements aimed at expanding our understanding of viruses and other selected pathogens, their respective disease pathogenesis, and host immune responses to such infections.
Founder + Director
D. Lorne Tyrrell is a Distinguished University Professor and GSK Chair in Virology at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ. He is the Founding Director of LKSIoV.

Most of LKSIoV's members are associated with the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology, with member affiliation encompassing 18 other units (institutes, departments, and faculties) at the Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Other members are located in other Canadian institutions.
