Work as a Career Peer Educator

For more than 35 years, the Career Peer Educator (CPE) program has been an integral and evolving part of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s career services. As a CPE, you’ll work part-time on North Campus delivering career services both in-person and online, all while developing your employable skills and gaining insight into the recruitment process.

We serve all current and prospective students, postdoctoral scholars and alumni, and have connections with local, national and international employers. We strive to support the vibrant Â鶹ÊÓƵ community, and reflect this vibrancy in our own staff and the way we work.

Each year, the Career Centre hires 15-20 undergraduate and graduate students from any faculty or program to staff the CPE program. CPEs typically work between 10 to 15 hours each week during the academic year.

CPE Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service at the two Â鶹ÊÓƵ Career Centre locations.
  • Conduct advising appointments related to career management, work search and interview strategies.
  • Advise on resume and cover letter best practices.
  • Prepare and deliver group sessions on career-related topics.
  • Assist in hosting employer information sessions, speaker series, career fairs and other events.
  • Support the work of the Career Centre as a whole (e.g. research, resource development, special projects).
