Graduate Student Internship Program

GSIP works with employers to create flexible, paid work experience opportunities for Â鶹ÊÓƵ graduate students. These interdisciplinary placements provide current master’s and PhD students with the chance to gain professional work experience and strengthen transferable and specialized skills.

GSIP Employer Advantages

Benefits to your organization partnering with the GSIP include:

  • Access to an efficient hiring pool of talented people
  • Ability to address short-term and project-based staffing needs with flexible part-time contracts
  • Potential to acquire permanent employees with GSIP serving as a probationary period

Program Details

  • GSIP staff help employers create suitable positions by connecting the organization with relevant Â鶹ÊÓƵ academic departments.
  • Employers post internship opportunities on the GSIP section of campusBRIDGE, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ online job board.
  • Employers choose the most suitable candidate from the applicant pool.
  • Internships can be part-time or full-time, and do not need to align with the academic calendar.
  • Employers pay interns a fair and competitive salary, with the potential to access a wage subsidy when available.

Master’s and PhD students across all Â鶹ÊÓƵ faculties and academic departments can participate in GSIP. Several graduate programs have required or optional experiential programming — students from these programs may use a GSIP internship to meet these requirements:
