Career Conversations

Career Conversations are informational interviews where participating students and graduates connect with hosting professionals working in a variety of areas to hear their career stories. Participants select a host for a brief virtual conversation to ask career-related questions. This program is offered in collaboration with Alumni Relations.

A Career Conversation is an opportunity to:

  • Learn about potential career options and ways to apply education, training and/or experience
  • Clarify work-related preferences and interests (e.g., work environment, sector, tasks)
  • Develop tailored industry knowledge and specific vocabulary
  • Make useful connections with professionals
  • Increase confidence in the work search process

Career Conversations are voluntary, unpaid and are not tied to an academic program. Due to the nature of the program there is no guarantee of the number of opportunities or that every host and participant will be matched. This program runs continuously throughout the year.
